I hope that in future Netgear will avoid using Broadcom chipset in their routers to favour Open firmware development. I wonder too why Netgear waste money developing substandard custom firmware for their routers when they could partner with OpenWRT or DD-WRT to supply world class features at a fraction of the cost.
OpenWrt is a community project and works a lot of platforms, these are just a few ones that are “easy” to get working.
